REVIEW OF 2022

As we reach the end of another year it’s been pretty fab, after a damp start during early spring we had a gloriously sunny period, with lots of chances for playing. Nice also not to have needed to clean Doris after her pro clean as well and ended in another damp end.

I may not have got to as many evening meetings as planned but found some new ones, and   I sure made the most of the weekends making over 100 events and 6000 miles without ever staying out for a night. It was a tad infuriating when Doris decided not to play due to a silly electrical problem, thankfully sorted. Or when falling over a wall I was put out of action for a month ooops (note to self, walking is dangerous)

Nice to continue having some articles printed as well, which always make me smile, and a huge thankyou to all those who have taken the time to stop and chat, comment on photos, give ideas or general encouragement it does mean a lot.

So, what, have I thought, are some of the highlights?

Being presented with the Kevin Hughes Trophy at Medusas’ show has to be top. So unexpected, and especially as hadn’t decided to go until the morning.

Getting a bargain solo seat and rack for a new look for Doris, now on look for comfier solo seat as I like the look but it’s not a distance seat.

The new Fifty-Four Hot rod meet at Horley has grown from strength to strength.

Nice to have Beaky’s boot fair back

Catching up with Yoda and friends at Kickback at 3 Counties showground some amazing bikes there as well

Kickback in the prison was cool also a superbly different venue, although did get a bit too cramped for me.

Dorset Chopper Club show was superb and amazing for a first event.

Venturing up to the Ace for the adventure day, and realising how much I dislike riding into norf London

Fire Fighters club show was awesome so many different bikes.

Seeing a chopper club ride in was incredible even on a damp day, big thanks to NCC for letting me know.

Making 10,000 miles out of a set of tyres always a result

Cool flow evenings at Brooklands relaxed and a great venue

Crowning around in Cambridgeshire lived up to expectations as a cool event, even if an adventure getting there.

Pinewood bike show was great, but over too soon

Mono Motorcycles show had some real great bikes, and I was pleased to be assist in judging

Hotrod cruise in Redhill was cool and so busy.

Barn Project bike nights were nice for a new meet

P and D customs pre-retirement show was great

Nice to have the west Sussex TOMCC show back on the calendar

End of season Hotrod run to Brighton was fab in the sun

A strangely warm Remembrance Day was a treat as could get along the coast

Christmas toy runs always good

And to round off the year Boyds of Bedford “winter Blast” was great with a cool venue and warm feel.

Boxing dy and I found two different but equally as welcoming events for cars and bikes,

And there were many more, and some of my favourite photos will be in this album. And dare we say lots of ice cream “live to ride, ride to ice-cream”

A massive thankyou to all who send ideas of meets and events (invites/tickets for 2023 always welcome ) please keep them coming.

A big thank you to all of you who like my photos and updates, so roll on 2023 who knows where I shall head too but I’m sure more adventures await

Stay safe all and see you out and about and next year the bike bonanza is back, in May and I have put a reminder for myself to find ice-cream in Bognor and LA
